As a Clemson family photographer, few things mean more to me than welcoming a family back for another year. Every time a family reaches out to schedule their next session, I’m reminded that this work isn’t simply about creating beautiful portraits. It’s about building relationships and preserving another chapter of their family’s story.
The Hearne family has invited me to photograph them for the past three years, and watching their children grow has been one of the greatest joys of my work. When I look through their galleries, I don’t just see how much they’ve changed. I see a story unfolding one season at a time—a story their children will one day look back on with gratitude.
South Carolina Botanical Garden Family Photos
This year, we met at the South Carolina Botanical Garden for a relaxed morning together. The gardens offered everything I love in a session: beautiful natural light, quiet walking paths, and plenty of space for children to explore.
The setting gave the Hearne children room to be themselves. Their oldest stepped confidently into his role as big brother, gently looking after his younger sisters. Their middle daughter filled the morning with curiosity and laughter, while the youngest delighted in discovering everything around her. Their parents never hurried those moments. They watched, smiled, and joined in the fun.
Those interactions became my favorite photographs because they reflected who this family truly is.
